Connect your PlayStation 3 to your television using your HDMI cable or the PlayStation 3 cable that came with your game system. The PlayStation 3 cable that came with your system should be a three-colored-coded A/V composite cable.
Turn on your PlayStation 3 and your television. Make sure that your television is set to the correct channel or set to the correct video input for your PlayStation 3.
Press the "PS" button on your PlayStation 3 controller and sign into your account.
Connect your iPod Apple dock connector USB cable to your iPod. If you do not have your Apple dock connector USB cable, you can buy one at the Apple store or at a local electronics store.
Connect your iPod to your PlayStation 3 USB port with your iPod Apple dock connector USB cable. The PlayStation 3 will recognize your iPod as a USB Device.
Press the arrow button on your PlayStation 3 controller to locate your iPod under the "Photo" or "Music" tabs. Scroll under each tab using your arrow buttons on your PlayStation 3 controller to locate your iPod. Under each tab, you will see "iPod" as a USB device.
Under the "Photo" tab, press the triangle button on your PlayStation 3 controller. Select "Display All" by pressing the "X" button on your controller to view photos saved on your iPod. Select a photo to view or copy it to your PlayStation 3's hard drive. You can view pictures on your iPod on your PlayStation 3 as a slide show as well.
Under the "Music" tab, press the triangle button on your PlayStation 3 controller. Select "Display All" by pressing the "X" button on your controller to view music files on your iPod. Select a file to listen to or copy it to your PlayStation 3 hard drive.
