How to Set Up a PS3 for Blu-ray Through an Onkyo Receiver

The PlayStation 3 has a built-in Blu-ray player. Onkyo receivers are a sound system that has multiple rear connections. The PlayStation 3 comes with RCA connections that you can use to connect the PlayStation 3 to the Onkyo receiver. Once you connect the two systems, you can utilize the PlayStation 3's Blu-Ray player with the sound quality from your Onkyo receiver. This enhances the viewing experience.

Instructions

  Connect the RCA cable to the back of the PlayStation 3. The PlayStation 3 side of the cable does not have the three different colored prongs.

  Plug the yellow prong from the RCA cable into the back of the Onkyo receiver. Be sure you plug the prong into a yellow video-in jack.

  Plug the red and white prongs from the RCA cable into the back of the Onkyo receiver. Be sure you plug the prongs into an audio-in jack that is red and white and underneath the yellow prong.
