How to Copy & Paste on the PS3

Modern gaming consoles are more than just vessels to play video games. For instance, Sony's PlayStation 3 has features similar to those on computers, with the ability to surf the Internet and play back multiple types of media files. Gamers can even copy and paste text using the console's built-in controls. This can be useful when gamers want to copy their messages, such as e-mails or text off websites.

  Highlight the text field that you wish to copy by selecting it with the left thumbstick.

  Push "X." A keyboard will pop up on the screen.

  Select the button resembling two squares on top of each other from the on-screen keyboard. This begins the copying process.

  Use the left thumbstick to move the cursor to the part of the text that you wish to copy, then press "X" again. This allows you to begin highlighting the text you wish to copy.

  Highlight your desired text by dragging the cursor with the left thumbstick. Press "X" to finish copying the text.

  Highlight the field with the left thumbstick where you wish to paste text, then press the "X" button. This allows you to view the keyboard again.

  Select the paste button, resembling a clipboard with a dark square in front of it. This pastes the text into your chosen field.
