The PlayStation 3 has a USB port to allow flash drive storage. This helps save room on the PlayStation 3's internal hard drive. The main files you can access using a USB drive is music, pictures and videos. Using the PlayStation's XML menu, you can access directories that are specific for music, pictures and videos. Sometimes you may need to utilize the "Display All" function to see everything on the flash drive. This displays all files on the drive, regardless of the file type.

Insert the flash drive into the USB port.

Decide if you want to find a music, picture or video file, then go to either "Music," "Photo" or "Video" on the PlayStation's menu.

Scroll down to the flash drive.

Press the "Triangle" button then select "Display All." This opens the flash drive and shows all the files on the drive.
