How do I Use a USB Wireless Internet Card on a PS3?

One of the most attractive features of Sony PlayStation 3 (or any next-generation video game console) is the ability to connect to your home network to access online multiplayer. Typically, Internet configuration for the PS3 is a quick and simple process; however, mobile broadband Internet cards can complicate the matter somewhat. Instead of simply configuring your PS3's network connections, you will need to access your personal computer and configure the wireless card to allow the PS3 internet access.

Instructions

  1. Internet Configuration

    • 1

Open your "Start" menu and then select the "Control Panel."

    • 2

Double-click on the "Network and Sharing" icon or simply "Network" based upon what operating system you use.

    • 3

Right-click on your wireless internet card's icon and select "Properties" from the drop-down menu.

    • 4

Select the "Advanced" tab and then place a check in the box next to "Allow other users to Connect through this computers internet connection" to enable Internet access for your PlayStation 3.
