Security Problems
Open a web browser on your computer. Enter in ̶0;192.168.1.1̶1; into the address bar without quotation marks and without any preface. Press ̶0;Enter.̶1;
Enter your user name and password into the menu. The default user name is ̶0;admin̶1; and the password is also ̶0;admin.̶1;
Click the ̶0;Wireless̶1; tab. Select the ̶0;Wireless Security Tab.̶1; Select ̶0;WEP̶1; from the ̶0;Security Mode̶1; drop-down box.
Click the circle next to any of the four numbers on the page. Write down ̶0;Key̶1; that corresponds with the number you have chosen.
Go to ̶0;Settings̶1; on your PS3 cross media bar. Scroll down to ̶0;Network Settings̶1; and press ̶0;X.̶1; Choose ̶0;Internet Connection Settings.̶1;
Select ̶0;Easy̶1; then ̶0;Wireless̶1; and then scan from the menu. Select ̶0;Linksys̶1; from the list of available networks.
Scroll to ̶0;WLAN Security Settings̶1; and choose ̶0;WEP.̶1; Enter the Key you wrote down from your browser. Confirm to save and test the connection.
Disable Media Server
Navigate to ̶0;Settings̶1; on the cross media bar. Scroll down to ̶0;Network Settings.̶1; Press ̶0;X.̶1;
Scroll down to ̶0;Media Server Connection̶1; and press ̶0;X.̶1;
Select ̶0;Disable̶1; and press ̶0;X.̶1; Press ̶0;Circle̶1; to return to the cross media bar.
Scroll to ̶0;Network̶1; and down to ̶0;Sign In̶1; to see if you can get back online.
Hardware Check
Check your router model. Linksys suggests you use a Wireless-G or Wireless-N router with the PlayStation 3.
Move your Linksys router and your PlayStation 3 to the top of a desk or table to improve their connection.
Power off your Linksys router and PlayStation 3 then wait 5 minutes. Power on the router and attempt reconnection.
