How to Use a European PS3 Console in Australia

  Insert the electrical outlet adapter into your wall. The adapter should correspond to the plug on your PS3, which differs depending on the region of Europe in which the PS3 was purchased. Check a listing of outlet types for different countries to find the outlet that matches your PS3 plug.

  Plug the PlayStation 3 into the outlet adapter. The PS3 has the same power requirements in Europe and Australia.

  Power on the PS3 console. Select "New User" from the Cross Media Bar (XMB) and press "X." Enter a name for your user.

Changing Language

  Scroll to "Settings" on the XMB, the second option from the right. Scroll down to "System Settings," the eighth option from the top, and press "X."

Signing Up For PSN

  Scroll to "PlayStation Network" on the XMB. Scroll down the menu to "Sign Up For PlayStation Network" and press "X."

  Select "Create New Account." Choose "Continue"

  Choose "Australia" from the drop down box and enter your language and date of birth.

  Continue through the sign up process, choosing a sign-in ID and password. Enter your address and billing information.

  Confirm the information is correct and press "X" to complete the registration. You can now access the Australian PSN and PlayStation Store.
