How to Enable Media Streaming with Windows Media Player 12
Click on the "Start" icon from the bottom-left corner of the Windows desktop. Click "All Programs" and click the Windows Media Player icon from the list of programs to open the Media Player.
Click "Stream" from the option bar above the media library directory on the Media Player. From the list of available options, click "Turn on Home Streaming." If you have already enabled home streaming, the option will not be displayed.
Click "Turn on Home Streaming" from the media streaming options and enter an administrator access password if required. Confirm your choice to enable home streaming by clicking "OK" and media sharing will be available through your home network using Windows Media Player 12.
Accessing Streamed Media Content Using a PS3
Turn on the PS3 and PC, in addition to any necessary network devices. Highlight "Network Settings" from the "Settings" menu of the PS3 menu and press the "X" button.
Highlight "Media Server Connection" from the list of options and press "X." Highlight "Enable" and press "X" to allow the PS3 to access the media server on your network.
Highlight "Search for Media Servers" from the media menus on the PS3 main menu and press "X." Once the PS3 has completed the scanning process, your Windows Media Player will be displayed on the PS3 menu.
Highlight your Windows Media Player icon and press the "X" button to display the different types of media available for streaming. Highlight the file you wish to play or display and press the "X" button to stream it over your home network.
