How to Set Up the Wireless LAN for PS3

      Ensure your wireless router is plugged in and within range of the PlayStation 3. Turn on your console and allow the Xross Media Bar to load. Scroll across the bar to locate the "Settings" icon. Scroll down and locate the "Network Settings" menu. Press "X" to open the settings.

      Highlight the "Internet Connection Settings" icon and press "X." Choose the "Easy" connection setup and then select "Wireless."

      Choose to "Scan" for a wireless network. Choose your connection from the search results and press "X."

      Select your encryption type from the provided list, then hit the right arrow on your directional pad. Type in your wireless password, if necessary, then highlight and choose "Save." If you do not know the wireless encryption type or password, contact the owner of the router.

      Test your connection by selecting "Test Connection." Exit the test results by pressing "O" until you return to the "Settings" menu. Your connection will remain intact as long as it is within range of the router.
