How to Download an MP3 to the PS3

The Sony PlayStation 3 home video game console features extensive functionality using a broadband Internet connection. In addition to access to the PlayStation Network for content downloads and online gameplay, the PlayStation 3 features an included Internet browser. The PS3 web browser allows gamers the ability to perform basic Internet functions from the PS3 console, including website browsing, the ability to print web pages using a compatible printer and the ability to download files to the PS3, such as MP3s. Note that in order to access content downloaded from the web browser, file formats must be compatible with the PlayStation 3.

  Highlight the Internet browser from the PlayStation 3's "Network" section of the main menu. Press the "X" button.

  Press the "Start" button to open an Internet address text entry menu. Type in the address of the website you wish to visit. Press the "Start" button to enter the address and proceed to the site containing the MP3 you wish to download.

  Highlight the MP3 file you wish to download from the web browser. Push the "X" button.

  Highlight the destination to which you wish to save the content. Press the "Start" button to download the content. In addition to your PS3 hard drive, any other storage devices connected to your PS3 will be displayed. Once the file has been downloaded, it will be accessible in the "Music" section of the PlayStation 3 menu.
