How to Chat on MSN With Your PS3

The PlayStation 3 (PS3) is equipped with multiple Internet capabilities. Users can access videos, websites and even chat clients through the PS3 browser. Connecting a keyboard and mouse to your PS3 will allow for a much faster chat experience. Since users cannot download MSN Messenger to their PS3, they must connect through a mobile chat client to access their contacts. The eBuddy chat client allows users to connect to several different messenger lists, including MSN Messenger.

Instructions

  Turn on your PS3 console and ensure it is connected to the Internet either through an Ethernet cable or a wireless connection. Sign into your PlayStation Network account.

  Scroll to the "Network" tab on the Xross Media Bar, then scroll down until you see the "Internet Browser" feature. Click "X" to open the PS3 browser.

  Allow the browser to load, then press the "Select" button to open the onscreen keyboard. Use your controller to enter "m.ebuddy.com."

  Select "MSN Mobile" from the list of messengers. Use your controller to enter your username and password and hit "Login."

  Click a contact's name to open a conversation window, and chat as you normally would on the desktop version of MSN Messenger.
