Turn on your PlayStation 3 console and allow the XMB menu to load. Fully charge your compatible Bluetooth headset before you attempt to pair it with your PlayStation 3 console.
Refer to your compatible Bluetooth headset's documentation on how to place the device in pairing mode. For most Bluetooth headsets, this usually involves pressing and holding a button on the side for several seconds.
Scroll through the XMB menu and highlight ̶0;Settings̶1; using your PlayStation 3 game controller, then scroll down to the ̶0;Accessory Settings̶1; menu choice. Press the ̶0;X̶1; button on your controller to access the menu.
Highlight the ̶0;Manage Bluetooth Devices̶1; menu selection and press the ̶0;X̶1; button on your controller.
Place your compatible Bluetooth headset in pairing mode and quickly choose ̶0;Register New Device̶1; followed by the ̶0;Start Scanning̶1; menu option. Enter in the default passcode for your Bluetooth headset (refer to your headset's documentation for the default passcode). Certain Bluetooth headset manufacturers set the default passcode to ̶0;0000.̶1; Press the ̶0;X̶1; button on your controller after entering the default passcode.
Navigate back to the accessory settings menu after successfully pairing your compatible Bluetooth device with your PlayStation 3 console. Highlight the ̶0;Audio Device Settings̶1; option under the accessory settings menu and press the ̶0;X̶1; button on your controller.
Adjust the ̶0;Microphone Level̶1; menu slider using your controllers D-pad while talking into your Bluetooth headset. The remaining menu selections also give you the ability to adjust the sound output level of other gamers using Bluetooth headsets during online play. Make any desired changes or adjustments under the ̶0;Audio Device̶1; menu and exit when finished.
