How to Stop Violence in Video Games

The concern about violence in video games has been a huge issue for many. While some argue that violence in video games is a matter of personal freedoms, others say many video games take it too far and should have laws against them. While there are currently no laws prohibiting violence in video games, things can be done to change this in the future for anyone who's willing to put in the time and effort to combat this delicate issue.

Instructions

    • 1

Contact your representatives and lobby Congress about stopping violence in video games. Elected officials are always seeking to please their constituents by pushing for laws that reflect their wishes, so don't be afraid to respectfully tell your local representatives what voting citizens expect of them. See the resources section for more information on how to contact elected officials.

    • 2

Organize with friends and family to support your cause. One singular voice speaking out on issues is often not enough to get the status quo changed, but a group of caring citizens all uniting under the same voice has a lot more persuasive power behind it to get laws changed. The more support you can organize with friends, family and other citizens, the more weight you will have in influencing elected officials.

    • 3

Make an honest effort to avoid purchasing any games which feature violence. If consumers refuse to purchase violent video games, the law of supply and demand will render the making of such video games unnecessary.
