Check your computer for an HDMI input connection. This is slightly smaller than an inch long and is similar to a USB port in design. If you are not sure about the cable connection, see your computer's user manual.
Insert the HDMI cable into the HDMI port of the PS3, located on the rear of the gaming device.
Connect the opposite end of the cable into one of the HDMI ports on your desktop computer.
Power on the Sony PlayStation 3, then launch Windows Media Player. Once the program loads, select the "TV" option and click the "HDMI" connection. The PS3 video and audio information now appears on the desktop screen.
