How to Rip PS1 Games to PS3

The Sony PlayStation 3 game console is backwards compatible with PS one games. This means you can load your classic original PlayStation titles into the PS3 game slot and play them. Unfortunately, the backwards compatibility does nothing to diminish the slow load times, but there is a solution to this problem. By downloading these games directly to your PS3, you eliminate the need for game discs and you&'ll cut down on those annoying load times.

Instructions

  Power on your PS3 and log in to your PlayStation Network account by going to the "PlayStation Network" menu and selecting "Sign In" from the list.

  Scroll down the list after you have signed in and select the PlayStation Store icon. When the PS Store loads, scroll down to the "Games" option on the main menu.

  Scroll down to the PS one Classics for PS3/PSP option and press the "X" button. Browse the selection of games until you find one you&'d like to download, then press the "X" button. Click the "Buy Now" button to proceed to the checkout process.

  Enter your credit card details when prompted to do so. Once you&'ve confirmed that all of your details are correct and you are ready to buy, press the "Confirm Purchase" button to begin downloading the game. When the download is complete, you&'ll find the game in the "Game" menu on the XMB dashboard.
