The PlayStation 3 computer entertainment system uses two primary controller types: the SIXAXIS and the DualShock 3. While the SIXAXIS controller has been discontinued by Sony, the DualShock 3 controller is still available with a MSRP of $54.99. Third-party controllers are also available for the PlayStation 3 at varying prices. When buying any controller for your PlayStation 3 console, carefully read the packaging to make sure it&'s compatible with your console.

  Search your area for stores listed on Sony&'s "Where To Buy" page which features a list of major retailers that sell PlayStation brand products. Sony notes retailers such as Best Buy, GameStop, Walmart, Kmart, Toys"R"Us, Sonystyle and Sears as official PlayStation product vendors.
