Things You'll Need
Instructions
Change the batteries in the Sony PS3 remote control. If the PS3 is not responding, it is most likely due to the batteries being dead. Switching out the batteries corrects this issue.
Sync the Bluetooth remote control to the PS3 if you haven&'t already. The remote control does not work on the system until you perform the sync. Power on the PS3 and, using the gaming controller, navigate to the left on the start-up menu and choose "Settings," "Accessory Settings" and finally "Register Bluetooth Device." The PS3 sends out a signal and detects the controller. Choose "OK," and the PS3 remote control now works with the gaming system.
Push "PlayStation" in the middle of the remote control if the PlayStation is not reading it. This sends out a wireless signal to the PS3, signaling it is a remote control connection. Wait a few moments, then push one of the control buttons and the PS3 detects the remote control.
