How to Charge the PS3 Remote Controls to Work

The PlayStation 3 game console uses rechargeable controllers you can charge using a Mini-B USB cable, which is the type used by digital cameras and Motorola mobile phones. Although you can recharge your PS3 controllers by plugging them into your PS3, you can also plug them into computers and laptops; they work just as well. With the proper equipment, charging your PS3 controllers is a fairly simple process.

  Power on your PS3 or computer; any computer will do as long as it has an open, functional USB port.

  Plug the small end of the USB cable into the top of the PS3 controller and the large end into an open USB port on your PS3 or computer.

  Check the four indicator lights next to the USB port on your PS3 controller. If they are flashing, the controller is being charged. When the lights stop flashing, the controller is fully charged.
