How to Use a PS3 Controller As a PC Joystick

The Sony PlayStation 3 controller is sturdy and based off the designs of Sony&'s two older video games systems, PlayStation and PlayStation 2. As a result, many gamers are comfortable using this controller--so comfortable that they would like to use it on their PCs. Now they can, as drivers are available that install the PS3 controller&'s hardware to the PC so that you can play PC games on it.

  Download the PS3 controller driver from QJ.NET by clicking on the download button. Pick a folder where you want to download the program.

  Open the "ps3sixaxis_en.exe" with file-unpacking program like WinZip or WinRAR.

  Connect the PS3 connection cable into the top of the PS3 controller. Connect the other end of the cable into an open USB port on the PC.

  Double-click the "ps3sixaxis_en.exe" file once. A command prompt screen appears then disappears quickly. The installation process is quick.

  Look for a prompt to appear saying that the controller was installed. If it does not appear, press the "PS" button in the center of the controller. The computer immediately recognizes it.
