How to Copy Movies from DVD to PS3

The Sony PlayStation 3 is a home video game console that also plays videos and DVDs. If you want to copy the video from a DVD onto the PS3, you need to use a computer program to convert it in the proper format. Once converted, you can load all of your DVD movies onto your PS3 at once and watch them without using the discs.

USB flash drive

Instructions

  Place the DVD you want to copy into your computer&'s optical drive. Download a video converter program (see Resources).

  Open "PS3 Video 9" and click "DVD File." Click the DVD drive you want to create the PS3 file from and click "OK." Name the file in the "Title" box and click "Destination." Select a place to save the new video file and click "OK." Click "Next." Click "Start Converting," and your DVD will be converted to a playable video file for the PS3.

  Open 4Media PS3 Video Converter and click the "+" button on the main menu. Select your DVD drive as the source. Click the "Destination" icon near the bottom of the main menu and select a place to save the new video file. Click the "Start" button and the program will convert the DVD to an MP4 file for the PS3.

  Open 4VideoSoft PS3 Video Converter and click "Add file" from the main menu. Select your DVD drive from the list. Click "Profile" and "PS3" from the menu that appears. Click "Browse" to the right of "Destination" and select a place to save the new video file. Click "Start" to convert the DVD to the MP4 format.

  Copy the new video file onto a USB flash drive and connect it to your PS3. Turn your PS3 on and go to the "Video" section. Select the "USB" icon and go to the video that you want on your PS3. Press the "Triangle" button and select "Copy" to copy it to your PS3 hard drive. Go back into the "Video" section and your video will be there.
