How to Copy Movies to PS3

If you want to transfer movies to your PS3, you can do so by copying them to the PS3 hard drive. The PS3 comes with a hard drive that has up to 250 gigabytes of storage. You can copy movies from your computer to your PS3. The PS3 has a Blu-ray player, but it can also play regular movie files from the hard drive. To transfer movies from your computer to your PS3, you’ll need a Fat32 formatted hard drive.

      Plug your external hard drive into your computer. Locate the movie file that you want to copy to your PS3 and copy transfer it to the external hard drive by dragging and dropping the file into the hard drive window.

      Unplug the external hard drive from your computer and plug it into a USB port on the PS3.

      Remove any discs from the PS3 and turn it on. This will take you to the main menu of the system.

      Scroll through the menu by pressing the left arrow button on the PS3 controller. Find the “Video” section and then press the up arrow to find the external hard drive.

      Hit the triangle on the PS3 remote control and scroll to “Display All” to view all the movie files located on the external hard drive.

      Scroll to the movie file you want to copy with the arrows and then press the triangle on the remote to select the file. An options menu will pop up.

      Navigate to “Copy” with the arrows on the remote and press X to choose the “Copy” option. Press X again to confirm the copy to the PS3.

      Go back to the main menu of the PS3 and select the “Video” section to make sure that the movie copied onto the PS3. Open the movie file to make sure it worked.
