How to Install a PS3 System

The Sony Playstation 3 comes with everything you need to set it up when you purchase it. This is for the basic set up of the system. You can enhance the video quality of the system with different types of video cables if your television is compatible. The set up only takes a few moments, and then you can start playing your games right away.

Things You'll Need

AC cable (included with system)
Standard AV cable (included with system)
Mini USB/USB cable (included with system)

Instructions

  Set the PS3 system in a spot close to your TV, close enough for the two cables to reach behind the TV and to a nearby electrical outlet.

  Connect the AC cable to the matching port on the back of the PS3.

  Connect the other side of the AC cable to the nearby outlet.

  Connect the AV cable to the matching port on the back of the PS3.

  Connect the other side of the AV cable to the matching ports on the back or side (depending on model) of the TV. The AV cables are red, yellow and white. Put them inside the ports with the matching red, yellow and white colors.

  Press the power button on the front of the system.

  Plug the provided USB cable into one of the USB ports in the front of the system.

  Attach a PS3 controller to the plugged in USB cable to start charging it.
