How to Copy a Saved Game to a USB Flash Drive From a PS3

The Sony PlayStation 3 makes use of an internal hard drive to save game files and game data. The PS3 also comes with a set of USB inputs that can connect external drives, such as a USB flash drive, to the system to share data. If you want to take your saved games on the road and play them on a friend's PS3, you can copy them to a USB drive and import them to another PS3.

Instructions

    • 1

Plug in your USB flash drive to one of the USB ports on your PS3 console.

    • 2

Turn on your PS3 console and go to the "Settings" menu in the system's Xross Media Bar.

    • 3

Select "System Settings" from the "Settings" menu.

    • 4

      Select "Backup Utility."

    • 5

Select "Back Up" and select your USB thumb drive as the destination to back up all of your game data to your thumb drive. You can then plug that thumb drive into another system and play your saved games.
