How to Pair Bluetooth With a PS3

Sony makes an official Playstation 3 Bluetooth headset. But if you have an extra one laying around, or if you do not want to pay for the Sony headset, you can pair any Bluetooth headset with a PS3. Your PS3 system offers a step-by-step system to simply scan for in-range Bluetooth devices. It's similar to pairing a headset with your Bluetooth cell phone.

Instructions

    • 1

Power on your PS3 system. Also turn on a controller by pressing the "P" button in the center.

    • 2

Select "Settings," "Accessory Settings," and then "Register Bluetooth Device."

    • 3

      Choose "Register Headset."

    • 4

Set your Bluetooth headset into pairing mode by pressing and holding the large outer button until the LED light glows.

    • 5

Choose "Start Scanning" on the PS3.

    • 6

Select your headset from the list of in-range Bluetooth devices.

    • 7

Enter the headset passcode which is "0000" to finish pairing.

    • 8

Change your audio settings to hear sound through your headset and enable you to speak through the headset mike. Select "Audio Device Settings" from "Accessory Settings." Change the "Input" and "Output Device" to your Bluetooth headset.
