How to Download Music on the PS3

The Sony PlayStation 3 features a completely customizable interface that enables you to copy your favorite music--along with other forms of media such as movies and pictures--to the PS3's hard drive. However, you need to utilize an audio format the PS3 can recognize, or the system will be unable to copy the data. With a USB drive, all you need to do to transfer your favorite music is properly navigate the PS3's main menu.

  Attach the USB drive to the PS3 by plugging it into the USB port on the front of the console.

  Turn on your PS3.

  Move through the PS3's main menu and stop on the "Music" icon (it looks like a musical note).

  Navigate through the "Music" section to the "Storage Media" icon and select it to view your music files.

  Select each file you want to transfer to your PS3's hard drive and press the "Triangle" button to begin copying the files.
