How to System Link a PS3

The Sony PlayStation 3, much like the Microsoft Xbox 360, allows for two systems to be hooked up to one another, in order to accommodate multiple players on the same game. If you have two PlayStation 3 consoles with two copies of same game, you can connect the two PS3s with a minimal amount of equipment.

Things You'll Need

  • Ethernet cable
  • 2 televisions
  • 2 PlayStation 3s with the same game (the game must support system link)

Instructions

    • 1

Connect the two PS3s to each other by inserting the ends of the Ethernet cable into the respective Ethernet ports on the backs of the consoles.

    • 2

Turn your PS3s and televisions on, and begin playing the game on both systems.

    • 3

Choose the "Multiplayer" option, and then the "System Link" option on both systems. The systems should now recognize each other and connect.
