How to Connect Bluetooth to PS3

The Sony PlayStation 3 runs all of its controllers off of a Bluetooth connection. This allows you to stand away from the gaming system without being tethered down with a wired controller. It also allows you to move the controller away from the PS3, without pointing it directly at the system. However, before you may begin using the Bluetooth device on the system, you first must pair it with the PS3.

Instructions

    • 1

Power on the Sony PlayStation 3 and wait for the main menu to appear.

    • 2

Press the left directional button until you reach "Settings."

    • 3

Push the down directional arrow button and select "Accessory Settings." Press "X" to select this option.

    • 4

Choose "Manage Bluetooth Devices" and select "Yes," when asked if you want to register your Bluetooth device. At this time power on the Bluetooth product.

    • 5

Pick "Start Scanning" and the PS3 scans for any Bluetooth devices in the area. Once it detects your device, select it, and press "0000" as the pass code (unless you've set a different pass code). Click "OK" and the Bluetooth device is now paired with the gaming system.
