How to Connect a PS3 to a Broadband USB Modem

The PlayStation 3 cannot directly connect to a USB modem. However, it is possible to connect the USB modem to a laptop or desktop computer and then share the Internet connection between the computer and the PlayStation 3. Receiving an Internet connection will allow the gamer to play games over the Internet, access the PlayStation 3 shop and browse the Internet.
