How to Connect to the Internet on a Sony TV Through a PlayStation 3

The PlayStation 3 is not only able to play games, audio CDs and DVDs, it can also work as a computer that allows you to browse the Internet when connected to a DSL or cable modem and your television. In order to view the Internet on your Sony TV, you must use the Ethernet cable that comes with your PS3, as it allows the PlayStation 3 to communicate with the high-speed modem.

      Insert the Ethernet cable into the Ethernet port on the back of the PlayStation 3, and insert the other end of the cable into the Ethernet port on your DSL or cable modem.

      Use the directional buttons on your Playstation 3 controller to highlight the "Settings" icon and press the "X" button. Move the highlighter tab to "Network Settings" and press the "X" button.

      Highlight "Internet Connection Settings" and press the "X" button on your controller.

      Highlight "Yes" on the pop-up box and click the "X" button to disconnect the Internet connection. Highlight "Wired Connection" and press the "X" button.

      Highlight "Easy" in the pop-up box and press the "X" button on your controller to automatically set up the Internet.
