How to Connect a DVR to a PS3

Many modern televisions have multiple ports that can accommodate third-party devices, such as home game consoles and digital video recorders (DVRs). Sometimes, though, there aren't enough ports. If you have a DVR connected to your TV and want to connect your PlayStation 3 (PS3) console as well, you can use your DVR as an intermediary.

Instructions

  Connect the PS3 end of your PS3 RCA cables to the port located on the back of your PS3.

  Connect the RCA ends of your PS3 RCA cables to the input ports on the front (or possibly the back) of your DVR.

  Use your PS3's power cable to connect your PS3 to a wall socket.Turn your television, DVR and PS3 on to make sure the devices are properly working.

  Press the "input" or "video" button on your DVR remote to send the DVR into video mode. The digital signal from your PS3 should now be transmitted through the DVR, and can be seen on your television screen.
