How to Load a Debit Card for the PS3 Store

The Sony PlayStation 3 offers users the option of purchasing content from the Internet. This includes video games, movies and add-ons for current games. All products can be purchased directly through the Sony PlayStation 3's online store accessed through the PS3 system. In order to purchase items from the store, you either need a debit or credit card entered into your account information.

  Power on the PS3 and wait for the main menu to load. Scroll over to the left until the "PlayStation Network" category appears.

  Push the "Down" button on the PS3 controller until you reach "PlayStation Store." Select this then click "Log In." The PlayStation 3 will log you onto the PS3 store. From here, you can select a category to search, such as "Movies" or "Video Games."

  Choose the product you want to purchase by pressing the "X" button. A description of the game or movie will appear on the screen.

  Select "Proceed to Checkout." Click on "Yes" to the "Add Funds" question.

  Type in the full name on your debit card, enter the billing address, the 16-digit card number, expiration date and the 3-digit security code found on the back of the card.

  Select "Continue" then "Purchase." The PlayStation Store will charge your debit card then download the game or movie onto your PS3.
