Instructions
Connect your PS3 to your TV in the usual way. If you use the Multi AV cable, plug in the yellow video cable into the yellow composite input on your TV. You do not need to worry about the red and white audio connectors. If you use an HDMI cable, plug in the cable in the normal way.
Connect the optical cable to the optical output on the back of your PS3.
Connect the other end of the optical cable to the optical input on the back of your Bose Lifestyle 28.
Power on your PS3 and Bose Lifestyle system. Set the Bose Lifestyle to the optical audio channel.
Navigate to the ̶0;Settings̶1; tab in your PS3̵7;s Xross Media Bar and select ̶0;Sound Settings.̶1;
Select ̶0;Audio Output Settings.̶1;
Select the ̶0;Digital Out (Optical)̶1; option.
Select the audio options that your audio receiver supports. The Bose Lifestyle supports Dolby Digital 5.1 and DTS 5.1, so make sure those are both selected.
Press the ̶0;X̶1; button on the PS3 controller to save the settings. The audio will now be output through the optical cable to your Bose system, and you should hear it.
