How to Switch From HDMI to AV With a PlayStation 3

The Playstation 3, often called PS3, is an entertainment system manufactured by Sony. With the PS3 you can play video games, watch Blu-Ray movies, connect to the Internet wirelessly and even rent movies or games online. If you have your PS3 hooked up to a HDTV using an HDMI cable, and then need to instead connect it to a TV using AV cables, the screen will be blank at first as you need to reset the video connection settings for anything to show up.

     Turn the Playstation 3 off. There should be a red light on the front of the system when it is off.

     Press and hold the power button for 5 or 6 seconds. The power button is located on the front of the device, right under the Playstation logo. You will hear a second beep after 6 seconds have passed.

     Press the power button again to turn on the Playstation 3. The video settings will be reset and it will find your AV connection.
