Things You'll Need
Instructions
Power on your PlayStation 3. If an Ethernet cable is connected to the back of the console, disconnect it now.
Scroll to the "Settings" icon on the PS3 home menu. Then press "Down" on the directional pad until you reach the "Network Settings" icon. Press "X".
Highlight "Internet Connection", press the "X" button, and make sure it's set to "Enabled".
Scroll to "Internet Connection Settings" and press the "X" button.
Select "Yes" on the next screen (all this does is disconnects the PS3 from the current Internet connection).
Choose "Easy" and press the "X" button. Next, choose "Wireless" and press "X" again". Then choose "Scan".
Choose your wireless network from the list provided and press "X". Then press the "right" button on the directional pad to confirm this is your network.
Choose the current security setting for your wireless router. If there isn't one, select "None". Talk to the person who handles the Internet setup in your home to determine the security settings you have.
Enter your Internet password if prompted (press "X" to bring up the keypad). Then press the "right" button to continue.
Confirm your settings and press the "X" button. Your PS3 will save the settings, and you can test the connection. If everything was set up properly, the screen will tell you the connection was successful.
