Madden NFL is one of the longest-running video-game franchises (since 1989) and part of the Electronic Arts "EA Sports" division. Later releases of Madden games have added extra features, including the popular "hit-stick" and "QB vision." Another added feature is the ability to taunt your opponent by performing a "high step" on your way to the end zone. The high step is flashy and fun, but it also leaves you vulnerable. Certain precautions should be taken when high stepping.

1
Break into your run, making sure there isn't a defender within 10 yards of you. High stepping slows you down; if a defender is close, high stepping could allow them to catch you.
-
2
Hold the "Circle" button as you get inside the 20-yard line, if you're playing Madden on the PS2 or PS3. The high step taunt does not work unless you are inside the 20-yard line.

3
Press and hold "B" when inside the 20-yard line, if you're playing Madden on the XBox 360.
