How to Program a New Wireless Guitar on PS3

If you enjoy playing Guitar Hero or other instrument-driven games on your Sony PlanStation 3, you probably have at least one guitar controller. You can use the newer guitar controllers through a wireless Bluetooth connection. This connection only takes a moment to set up, leaving you more time to rock out with your wireless controller.

Instructions

    • 1

Plug the USB data cable that came with the PS3 into one of the two USB data ports on the front of the gaming system.

    • 2

Connect the opposite end of the USB cable into the USB port on the wireless controller.

    • 3

Power on the PS3 if it is not yet powered on. Once the system is powered on push the "PS3" button on the controller. This registers the controller with the game system.

    • 4

Disconnect the USB data cable from the PS3 and the guitar controller. A moment after you disconnect the cable press the "PS3" button again. This tells the PlayStation you are using the controller through the Bluetooth connection.
