How to Stream Music to a PS3

The PlayStation 3 can stream all kinds of media over a network, including pictures, movies and music. To stream music to your PS3, you will need to enable sharing on your PC computer. Then you can stream your music library over your network directly to your PS3.

Windows Media Player

Instructions

  Connect your computer and PS3 to the same network.

  Open Windows Media Player on your computer.

  Click ̶0;File̶1; in the Windows Media Player toolbar and select ̶0;Add to Library.̶1;

  Add all of your music files into your Windows Media Player library.

  Click ̶0;Tools̶1; in the Windows Media Player toolbar and select ̶0;Options.̶1;

  Select the ̶0;Library̶1; tab and click the ̶0;Configure Sharing̶1; button.

  Check the ̶0;Share my media to̶1; check box to enable sharing.

  Click on your PS3, which will be listed as ̶0;Unknown Device,̶1; in the device window and click the ̶0;Allow̶1; button to enable sharing to that device.

  Navigate to the ̶0;Music̶1; tab on your PS3̵7;s Xross Media Bar. Select your computer and select the music that you want to play. You music will be streamed over the Internet from your PC to your PS3.
