How to Format an HD Cable to a PS3

In order to fully experience the high-definition capabilities of the Sony PlayStation 3, you need to hook the gaming device up to an HD television through the aid of an HD cable (also known as HDMI). An HDMI cable is a single cable that streams both the audio and video information from the PS3 to the television. In order to properly use the HD cable, you need to configure it to your television.

  Insert the HDMI cable into the HDMI port on your Sony PS3.

  Plug the opposite end of the cable into one of the HDMI ports on your television. All HD televisions have at least two different HDMI ports, and it doesn't matter which connection you use.

  Power on the Sony PS3 and the HD television.

  Press the "Input" button on the TV's remote control, then select "HDMI" from the input menu. Continue to select an HDMI input until the PS3 main menu appears on the television screen.
