How to Put a 60 GB Hard Drive Into a 40 GB PS3 Console

The PlayStation 3 provides a powerful gaming experience and uses its 40 gigabyte hard drive to save both games and game data, along with music, movies and photos. Because the hard drive quickly becomes filled, you can replace it with a hard drive that has a larger capacity, providing that that the drive is of the notebook type, 2.5-inch size that can fit inside of the PS3̵7;s hard drive compartment. Putting a 60 gigabyte hard drive in as a replacement for the 40 gigabyte drive that comes with the PS3 does not void the warranty and will provide for more space for storage. The 60 gigabyte hard drive is relatively inexpensive, can be purchased from any electronic or computer store and the replacement won̵7;t take longer than 30 minutes.
