Weapons in Call of Duty 3

"Call of Duty 3" is a first-person shooter game by Activision. You take control of a soldier set in the battlefields of World War II. As you storm enemy units either in single play or multiplayer mode, you collect and use a variety of weapons at your disposal. Each gun has its own strengths and weaknesses. Understanding the weapon attributes can help you succeed during your game play and win the war.
  1. Pistols

    • The pistol is the only weapon in the game that is exclusive to multiplayer. It is known to be the lightest weapon in the game and best used for sprinting purposes. A lighter weighted gun means faster and longer run times between points. Additionally, the pistol has a maximum range of 50 feet, so it's effective against close to mid-range combat while dispersing at long range due to accuracy loss. The pistol has an advantage against Anti-Armor Class and comes in two types: the Colt .45 and the Walther P38.

    Rifles

    • The rifles can be used under many elements: suppressive fire, close range, long range and tactical combat. Standard-issue rifles are associated with the Riflemen who comes equipped with a rifle, pistol and a rifle grenade extension. The Scouts are armed with sniper rifles, pistol, frag grenade and binoculars for artillery strikes. The main types of rifles are the M1 Garand, G43, the scoped/unscoped Lee-Enfield, the scoped/unscoped KAR89K and the scoped Springfield.

    Submachine Guns

    • The submachine guns are known for their small size, light weight and automatic rate of fire. They are suited for short-range combat in "Call of Duty 3" but have had modifications since its previous game. One of the more noticeable changes is that their firing range has been extended, its sights have been enlarged, and the recoil has been significantly reduced. These guns are usually given to the Light Support Class of the game and has three available versions: the Thompson, Sten Gun, and the MP40.

    Support Weapons

    • Support Weapons are generally all-purpose weapons used frequently during multiplayer matches. They provide long-range suppressive fire and are tactically used to keep enemies at bay in foxholes. While some of these Support Weapons can only be found during the single-player campaign, the primary characteristic shared by all of them is their reduced recoil time compared to the previous "Call of Duty" games. The Support Weapons are found under the Heavy Assault Kit, which comes with a rifle, a pistol, an AP mine and a frag grenade. The types of Support Weapons available to use are the Browning Automatic Rifle (BAR), Bren LMG, STG44 and the scoped/nonscoped FG42.

    Machine Guns

    • The machine guns are for the Support Cass and come in several varieties: Browning .30cal and .50cal, Vickers K, MG34 and the MG42. The machine guns are known for their incredible rate of fire and huge cache of ammunition. Due to their huge firing and ammo capacities, these can only be picked up and used from behind vehicles, or found as stationary guns. The machine gun is incredibly effective for close-range fire, while providing a continuous stream of support fire for medium- and long-range attacks.
