How to Put Songs From an iPod on a PS3

Not only is the PlayStation 3, more commonly referred to as the PS3, a high-def gaming console, but it can also handle numerous types of media playback. In fact, gamers can store songs on their PS3's hard drive to listen to while playing games or can simply use the console as a stereo. One way of storing music on the hard drive is by importing your iPod's music files. The process is simple and you can even decide which music files you'd like to copy.

      Connect your iPod to your computer, load iTunes and select your iPod's icon in the source list.

      Select "Manually manage music and videos." This automatically enables disk use on your iPod and will allow it to transfer music to your PS3 or other device.

      Plug your iPod into your PS3 using your iPod's USB 2.0 cable.

      Turn on your PS3 and open the cross-menu bar and select the "Music" folder.

      Press the triangle button on your iPod from the music folder list. It should be labeled "USB Device (iPod)." This opens a drop-down menu. Choose "Display All."

      Open the folder labeled "iPod Control," then select "Music." This will open a new list of folders containing all of your iPod's music.

      Copy the contents of a folder or single track by highlighting your desired selection then pressing the triangle button. Choose "Copy" from the resulting pop-up menu.
