How Do I Get Playstation Home on My PS3?

Launching PlayStation Home

  Start your PlayStation 3 console by pressing the touch-sensitive power button on your console, or by pressing the "PS" button on your wireless PlayStation 3 controller.

  Highlight "PlayStation Home," under the "PlayStation Network" tab on the console's "XMB."

  Press the "X" button to launch PlayStation Home.

  Sign in to the PlayStation Network using your login information. If you are already logged into the PlayStation Network, you will not be prompted to do so again. If you do not have a PlayStation Network ID, you will need to sign up for one before you'll be able to access PlayStation Home.

  Begin downloading the PlayStation Home application.

  Press the "X" button after reading the on-screen warning. Press it once more to connect to the PlayStation Home server.

  Press the "X" button after reading the "Message of the Day." PlayStation Home will begin loading its required resources and verifying your purchased content. Depending on your exact system configuration, this may take a few minutes.

  Create your avatar. If this is your first time playing PlayStation Home, you'll probably want to customize your avatar. Press the "Start" button to access the virtual PDA and select "Go to Wardrobe," under the "Personal" tab.

  Customize your avatar by choosing the "Character" tab. Here you can adjust settings like gender, facial structure and features, body type, skin tone, and hair color. There are also a number of preset avatars available in the "Presets" tab.

  Choose clothing for your avatar under the "Clothing" tab. You'll be able to pick from a variety of shirts, pants, shoes, and other accessories. Additional items can be purchased from the "PlayStation Store," or by playing free games located in PlayStation Home.
