How to Sync an iPod and a PS3

The PlayStation 3 is more than just a video console, it is a digital media hub. It can browse the Internet, play back MP4 files, and interact with external media players. If you have an iPod media player, you can share media between the device and the PlayStation 3. Syncing the two media libraries takes only a few steps, and will allow you to enjoy your media on a big screen using your PlayStation 3 game console.

Instructions

    • 1

Power on the PlayStation 3 and connect your iPod to one of the console's USB ports using the sync cable that came bundled with the device.

    • 2

Navigate to the music section of the cross-media bar and select "USB" and "Device (iPod)." Then select "display all" to view the files. Then scroll down to the iPod icon.

    • 3

Select the media you want to sync with the PlayStation 3 with the X button. Then press the triangle button and select "Copy multiple." The media will be downloaded to the hard drive. This can take anywhere from several minutes for small files, to hours for larger files.

    • 4

Disconnect your iPod by unplugging it from the USB port. Your content is now shared between the PlayStation 3 and your iPod.
