Things You'll Need
Instructions
Insert the memory stick into the PlayStation 2's USB port. Make sure that the memory card with the saved data you want is also in the system, then put the CodeBreakers disc in its tray. CodeBreakers is intended for hacking and enabling cheat modes on games, but it also has a function that allows users to treat USB memory sticks as memory cards, which is what you want to do.
Select "Device Manager" from the main screen after the loading screens. This will take you to a new screen with "Select Source Device" written at the top.
Choose the memory card with the save that you want on it, and hit the "X" button. This will take you to a screen with all of the available saved games on the memory card.
Scroll up or down until you've found the saved game that you want, then hit the "X" button to select. Hit the "Triangle" button to access the options of things to do with this saved game, and select "Copy." Hit the "X" button again to go to a new screen entitled "Select Destination Device."
Choose the memory stick option from this screen, which is a narrow rectangle, and hit "X." CodeBreakers will transfer the saved game from the PlayStation 2 to the USB memory stick. The saved game is now on the memory stick and, if the stick is inserted into one of the PlayStation 3's USB ports, can be brought up on the newer system the same way you would load up the file if you were playing it on the PlayStation 2.
