How Do I Get Music From My Laptop to My PS3?

The Sony PlayStation 3, also known as PS3, has many amazing features that go far beyond gaming. You can watch high-quality Blu-ray movies, view photos, interact online and relax to your favorite songs. The PS3 has a large hard drive, so it has room for your entire music library. Transferring music to your PS3 allows you to listen to songs while playing games, surfing the Internet or just lounging around the house. You can transfer music files right from your laptop or PC to your PS3 hard drive by using a USB flash drive.

  Insert the USB flash drive into an open USB port on your laptop. Click on "Open folder to view files." Right-click inside the pop-up window and click on "New," and then click on "Folder." Name the new folder "Music."

  Locate the music you want to copy onto your PC and click on one of the songs. Press "Ctrl" and hold it down while you continue clicking on the rest of the songs. Release "Ctrl" and right-click on one of the highlighted songs. Click on "Copy."

  Return to the "Music" folder that you created and right-click on a blank space inside of it. Click on "Paste." The music you just copied will appear in the "Music" folder.

  Remove the USB flash drive by clicking on "Safely Remove Hardware" from the system tray on the bottom of the screen, and then pulling it out of the USB port.

  Insert the USB flash drive into an open port on your PS3, and then turn the console on.

  Go to the "Music" category on the PS3 and select the USB flash drive. Choose the songs that you want to transfer onto your PS3. If you want to copy all of the songs to the hard drive, choose "Select All."

  Choose your PS3 as the destination for the music files, and wait for the music to transfer over before removing the USB flash drive. Removing the USB drive during the transfer can damage your PS3.
