How Do I Get My HDMI Cord for the PlayStation 3 to Work?

The PlayStation 3 supports standard AV, component, and HDMI video connections. HDMI, or High-Definition Multimedia Interface, will produce the best audio and video quality possible. The PlayStation 3 supports any standard HDMI cable. First, however, you must verify that your television also supports HDMI and has an available HDMI port.

  Connect one end of the HDMI cable into the "HDMI" port on the PlayStation 3.

  Connect the other end of the HDMI cable into the "HDMI" port on your television.

  Set your television to its HDMI video mode. Power on your PlayStation 3.

  Select "Yes" when asked "Do you want to output video and audio using HDMI?". Select "Yes" when asked "Do you want to automatically switch to the optimal setting?". Your PlayStation 3 will configure itself for the best possible video quality on your television. Select "Yes" to confirm the settings.
