How to Sync a Wireless Guitar to a PlayStation 3

The ̶0;Guitar Hero̶1; and ̶0;Rock Band̶1; music simulation game series notably use guitar controllers. These controllers are used to simulate playing the guitarist or bassist role in bands. Most games for both series are compatible with both brands of controllers on the PlayStation 3 (PS3). Wireless guitar controllers must be synced to the console before they can be used to play the game. This is a short process that only needs to be done the first time the controller is used on an individual console.

Instructions

    • 1

Plug the wireless receiver into the USB port on the PlayStation 3 console. There is a separate ̶0;Rock Band̶1; and ̶0;Guitar Hero̶1; wireless receiver. You need the matching one for the wireless guitar you want to sync to the console.

    • 2

Turn on the PlayStation 3 console.

    • 3

Press the sync button on the wireless receiver. This is the only button on the receiver.

    • 4

Press the sync button on the wireless guitar controller. This must be done within a few seconds of pressing the sync button on the receiver. The sync button is a small button located on the bottom edge of the guitar controller. The button is marked with a symbol with three wavy lines.

    • 5

Wait for the lights on the front of the controller to stop flashing. The wireless guitar will be synced to the console after the lights stop flashing.
