Things You'll Need
Instructions
Turn off the PS3 and the television.
Turn the PS3 around so you are looking at the back at the cable ports.
Remove the HDMI cable from the PS3.
Remove the other end of the HDMI cable from your TV.
Pull the HDMI cable out from behind the TV and set it aside.
Insert the PS3 side of the component cable into the PS3. It is the larger side of the cable. Insert it into the matching port of the PS3.
String the cables to the back of the TV. Depending on the entertainment center you have, you will need to string the wires through the TV stand so they are not hanging outside of the TV. The cables should not be easily seen if you are in front of the TV watching or playing games.
Insert the plugs on the other side of the cable into the back of the TV. Each plug is colored differently and each goes into the matching color port on the TV. The cable should have five plugs on it, and they are separated into groups. The group of three, green, red and blue, are the video cables, and it should say ̶0;Video In̶1; on the TV. The separate pair of plugs, red and white, are for audio, and these will say ̶0;Audio In̶1; on the TV.
Power on the TV and the PS3 to check the video. You will have to select a different ̶0;source̶1; channel from the TV to access the PS3. TVs have different ̶0;source̶1; channels instead of the old ̶0;Video̶1; channel. You can use the TV remote to switch between these, there will be one for the TV, one or two for HDMI, one or two for component and maybe more, or less, depending on the TV you have.
