How to Back up PS3 Data to an External Drive Before Replacing a Hard Drive

The Sony PlayStation 3 makes use of a standard 2.5-inch SATA hard drive that allows you to replace it with a larger-size one of your choice. If you wish to do this, back up your game data so you can easily transfer your stuff from one drive to the other without losing anything. You will need ample space on the external hard drive to transfer data. Use an external hard drive that is capable of storing the size of your current PS3 hard drive.
