Copying the Entire Music Collection
Copying your iPod's contents into the PS3 is a lot easier than many people think. You just have to know where to look for the iPod media content. Navigate through your PS3's menu until you get to the music section. You will see a music note when you get to the correct section. Scroll through the music section until you see "USB DEVICE (iPod)" and press the "--" button. Select "Display All." You will now see a few different items inside the iPod. Select the "iPod_Control" folder. This is the folder that houses all of your media on the iPod. Scroll down to the "Music" folder and press "--" button. Select "Copy" and your iPod's music contents will be copied to your PS3's hard drive. Wait for the copying process to complete. This could take a while if you have a lot of music on your iPod. Once it is finished, you will be able to find all of your music in the local PS3 music section. Unplug your iPod and play the music from the PS3.
Copying Individual Songs to the PS3
You can also copy individual songs and video from the iPod to your PS3. This might be useful if your iPod has many items or you do not want the media to be duplicated on the PS3 hard drive. Either way this process is just about the same as the first. Go into your iPod the same way you did in the first section, but this time instead of pressing the "--" button on the music folder, press the "X" button to browse the files inside of it. From here you can select the files you want to copy over by press the "--" button.
